Leagues covered
Looking for player-level projections instead of game winners? That is its own vertical: AI player props covers projected stat lines against the sportsbook number for NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL.
How the model works
Every league gets its own model, because every sport prices differently. The common recipe: for each game the model ingests team or player ratings built from historical results, current form, matchup context (starting pitchers in MLB, confirmed goalies in the NHL, surface in tennis, stylistic matchups in UFC) and live market prices from dozens of sportsbooks. Out comes a single win probability per side.
That probability is then compared against the implied probability of the current betting line. When the model's number is meaningfully higher than what the odds imply, the difference is an edge. And edges, not hunches, are what Oddify surfaces. When the model and the market agree, the honest output is "no bet", and the board says so.
The full breakdown of inputs, calibration and edge math lives on the methodology page.
What an edge score means
An edge is the gap between the model's probability and the market's implied probability, after stripping the bookmaker's margin. If Oddify makes a team 58% to win and the line implies 52%, that is a +6% edge. Small edges are noise; the interesting range starts where the gap survives the bookmaker's vig and the model's own uncertainty.
Edges are not guarantees. A 58% favorite still loses four times out of ten. The claim behind an edge is narrower and more useful: at these prices, this side is worth more than it costs. Over a season of disciplined picks, that difference is where profit lives.
How to read a confidence rating
Each pick carries a confidence rating. High, medium or low. It reflects how far the model's probability sits from a coin flip and how stable that number has been as inputs update. A high-confidence rating on a modest edge routinely beats a low-confidence rating on a big one: large edges on shaky inputs are usually the model missing information (a late scratch, a lineup change), not the market being wrong.
The practical rule most Oddify users follow: size stakes by confidence, choose sides by edge, and skip games where either is missing.
AI sports predictions vs traditional computer picks
Computer picks have existed for decades: power ratings in, projected score out. AI sports predictions differ in what they can ingest and how they self-correct. Oddify's models weigh news signals, market movement across books, and situational data that fixed formulas ignore. And they are re-trained against their own tracked results rather than tuned by hand once a season.
The other difference is honesty about uncertainty. A traditional computer pick outputs "Team A wins 27–24". Oddify outputs "Team A 61%, edge +4.5% against the spread, medium confidence". A statement you can bet against the price, not just a scoreline.
Frequently asked questions
What are AI sports picks?
AI sports picks are betting selections produced by machine-learning models rather than human handicappers. Oddify's models compute a win probability for every game, compare it with the sportsbook line, and flag the games where the model sees more value than the price implies.
Are AI sports predictions accurate?
No model wins every game, and any service claiming otherwise should worry you. The relevant question is calibration: when Oddify says 60%, does that side win about 60% of the time over a large sample? That is what the models are trained and tracked against, and it is why every pick ships with a probability instead of a promise.
Which sports does Oddify cover?
MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, college football, college basketball, soccer (Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and more), tennis and UFC. Plus AI player props for NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL as a separate vertical.
Are the picks free?
A free sample of the daily board is public on each league page, and creating a free account unlocks daily free predictions per sport. The full board. Every market, every edge, every confidence rating. Is part of Oddify's paid tiers.
Is Oddify a sportsbook?
No. Oddify provides analytics and predictions only. It does not accept wagers, and its picks are information, not betting advice. Whether and where to bet is always your decision.
